Unisys (Voicemail) CAP Systems : Helping you offer the best value and service.

Our Unisys CAP Product was originally developed in co-operation with Orange UK and Unisys in 1995 in response to concerns that CAP systems were unpredictable and could not achieve high utilisation rates without losing calls.

By implementing our methodology, the CAP systems were stabilised and could sustain much higher utilisation levels. We now worked with major telecoms companies in the UK, Netherlands, France, Poland, Spain, Germany and Belgium. They have all been able to make major cost reductions through the use of our methods, and our product has developed with their requirements.

CPI is a Unisys Approved ISV. However, we are fully independent. Our only obligation is to our clients, ensuring they minimise their costs while delivering a quality service.

Software and Services

We offer a full range of Services, from product licences, where clients manage their own capacity, with our support; through ongoing monthly reporting and analysis, annual capacity reviews, and detailed studies on specific projects. Our full support extends beyond product support to assistance with capacity and performance investigation methods and full on-site training.

Our product, RG Solutions (RGS), encapsulates all of the long term information you need to manage your CAP systems. RGS runs on a single Windows environment, giving you a complete CAP performance database on your desktop. It collects data using a low overhead (1-2%) agent that runs on the CAP platform 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It automatically summaries data by day, week, month or year for trend analysis, whilst providing all the in-depth information you need to manage the systems. It automatically produces "simple html” reports that can be used by management and tailored to your specific requirements.

RGS can report on all of your systems, allowing you to compare and contrast metrics based on system usage, call and message rates. You can see how much capacity is used and see your growth potential.

Your technicians can evaluate performance issues in databases, hardware or application quickly and easily. Bottlenecks are quickly identified and resolved. Workloads, calls and mailboxes can be quickly and easily profiled for costing and sizing purposes. If you are thinking of implementing new applications, such as GNS or empty call notification, RGS gives you the information to asses the resources you will need to support these.

Server Consolidation

The most dramatic examples of studies we have undertaken are cost reduction through consolidating CAP systems. In one case 11 systems were reduced to 7 systems at no cost to the client. In another, the client was able to absorb a 60% increase in mailboxes with no additional hardware.

In all cases, we follow an established method; install our agent on all CAP platforms and collect data for 1 week. We then identify and eliminate throughput limitations to achieve a “normalised” system. By classifying workloads, we can now profile the business use of the systems and determine effective capacities in terms of numbers of calls, messages and mailboxes. We set up ongoing management reports to ensure that all parties can see that service levels are maintained.
